John C Simmons F.C.A. - Partner

John commenced his accounting career with a small practice during 1959 after having spent the previous six years in the locomotive division of the N.S.W. Railways. He moved to Greenwood Challoner & Co., a medium-sized firm specialising in tax, in early 1970, to gain more experience in tax planning, corporate planning and advisory services. John became a partner of that firm on 1 January 1977. He resigned as a partner of Greenwood Challoner & Co. on 30 September 1978 and commenced his own practice on 1 October 1978, maintaining his tax and corporate advisory role.

John has extensive experience in Tax Advising, Strategic Planning, Financial Management and Estate Planning, and believes in thorough research before giving advice.

He has a close involvement in the Airline and Mining Industries, both in directorship and advisory roles.

Interests involve fine-wine appreciation, travelling, world history and all sports.

Leigh B Johnson F.C.A.- Partner

Leigh qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1976 and has gained a wealth of experience working with McDonald Ross & Co., Duesburys (now Deloittes), and Hungerfords (now KPMG) prior to forming a partnership with John Simmons in 1980.

Leigh deals with clients on a personal basis on financial matters affecting their business. Areas of expertise include business structures, tax effective planning strategies, GST and PAYG advice, superannuation, audit, general accounting and tax advice.

The one basic philosophy that Leigh follows is to give clients the best service on a timely basis.

Interest away from the office include surf lifesaving, home renovations, collecting memorabilia, rugby union and all sports (except synchronised swimming).
