With over 45 years experience, his distinguished career inlcudes working with reputable Chartered Accounting firms such as McDonald Ross and Co, Duesburys and Hungerfords.  In 1981 he became a partner in Simmons Johnson & Co (formerly John Simmons & Partners).  Here in his role as Partner, he provided financial and taxation services, management & tax planning, auditing, business structure advice & valuations, share valuations and general business advice.

In March 2011, Simmons, Johnson & Co merged with Nexia Court & Co – an ideal match for two firms that enjoy similar corporate values and client service objectives. Leigh remains as a Partner in the newly merged Firm and continues to champion the same ideals and vision in providing high-quality advice and services to small and medium enterprises.

As well as his demonstrated skills and leadership ability, Leigh has a number of long standing clients involved in Investment, Property Development, Construction, Retail and Manufacturing. These are clients who trust and respect his advice – one of which he helped grow from a small start-up business 20 years ago, to a company with an annual turnover in excess of $300 million.

Leigh has a strong work ethic and strongly believes in providing quality service and advice on a timely basis. This includes keeping abreast of the latest industry and government developments in order to take a proactive approach, stay one step ahead, and think outside the square. He has an easy-going, personable manner whilst also maintaining a professional balance. His motto? Don’t procrastinate - do it once, do it right and do it on time.

Out of hours, Leigh enjoys outdoor activities, following and participating in sporting activities, including Surf Life Saving . He gladly and humbly provides pro bono services to a number of charitable organisations as a way of acknowledging the generosity of individuals and contributing to society.

Leigh is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a registered Company Auditor, registered Tax Agent and a Member of the National Tax & Accountants Association.
