Ian has been with Nexia Court & Co for over 32 years and as Managing Partner is responsible for the overall management of the firm and its financial well-being.
His management style is the hallmark of the firm’s success with his ability to establish long-standing professional and friendly working relationships with his clients.
Ian has invaluable experience of working with SMEs to maximise their business opportunities. His advice on managing family businesses, succession planning, taxation and strategies for driving future growth has been highly regarded by all clients who work with him in this capacity.
Ian’s team are long-serving staff of the firm, highly qualified and share the same personal client service focus as their partner. Clients have the pleasure of having the same people doing their work from one year to the next.
Ian manages a diversified client base as a Business Services partner, covering a broad range of industries, size and types of entities. Clients find Ian’s breadth of experience allows him to add value to their business and offer opportunities to expand. Many of Ian’s clients have been retained over his working career with the firm and he now works with the second and third generation family members of some of the firm’s family-based businesses.
Other industries and entities that Ian services include professionals, primary producers, information technology providers, manufacturers, builders and developers, real estate agents and not-for-profit organisations.
Ian’s international client base is also growing through referrals from the Nexia’s NZ and USA offices. International clients looking to open offices in Australia are choosing Nexia Court & Co Sydney for their ability to deliver efficient accounting and taxation services for a competitive fee. In many instances Ian provides the back office for many of these small subsidiaries until they find their feet.
The strength of Ian’s day-to-day guidance for the firm is enriched by his wealth of experience gained from holding different management positions before becoming Managing Partner. Ian was the Staff and Training Partner and during this time developed his skill and passion for training and building strong client service teams within his practice as well as throughout the firm. He also looked after the IT requirements of the firm and this has placed him well to service clients in this area.
Ian holds a Bachelor of Business Studies, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Registered Auditor and Registered Tax Agent.
Ian is also a member of Nexia’s International Communication Committee.
